I love this Apple ad.

My jaw dropped when I first saw it.

It’s stunning. The graphic treatment of the animation is absolutely brilliant. The perfect extension of those great print ads, very now, very cool, very Apple. Once again Apple have got it exactly right.

Right towards the end the Apple logo appears to be sprayed on the screen. It’s breathtakingly sensitively done. You can see what I love so much here.

I met him once, nice guy, very talented, bit dull.

He’s just become the Head of the Faculty of Royal Designers for Industry. I’ve involved with that in a funny kind of way so I was interested to read his interview in Design Week.

He’s a designer I admire very much and it was good to see him slagging off the Guardian redesign. It’s always nice when people like that agree with me.

Remember when Orange ads were rubbish?

Remember this crazy stuff?

For the record, when Orange started the ads and the branding were fantastic. Then they went of the rails with all the ‘Orange Trainer’ ‘Hard Nosed Businessman’ bollocks. Now they’ve changed strategy again.

I don’t like all of them, but this ‘Ballerina’ ad is stunning. A beautiful piece of filming. It’s different, it’s moving, it’s perfectly paced and unusually for a mobile phone ad - it makes fucking sense.

I met Paul Smith this week

And you can't say that every week.

His new shop (selling furniture and stuff) opened up on Abermarle St, just off Piccadilly. We all went along to the opening and he was there. A very good shop, well worth a visit. A very nice man. Britishness at it's best, just the right mix of clever, wit, shrewd, style and personality. Do you think he'd make a good Prime Minister?

Coming back from a meeting today I noticed this estate agents board. I'm not sure whether I think it's pleasantly funny, or very insulting. What do you think? Feel free to leave a comment. Really, feel free.

This notice appeared in our building recently. I love the politeness of it, I love the way this question is phrased "May we remind you...?" "Why yes you may, dear chap".

Or maybe the question mark is the fault of the writer's bad grammar?

Or maybe they asked Microsoft Word to check the grammar and it automatically added in the question mark?

Where have all the ads gone?

An empty tube with no adverts, you don't see that very often do you? I really enjoyed spending a few minutes at this station, but I wouldn't want the whole network to be like this. I'd miss the ads, and so would you. Admit it

You Rock We Roll

This is brilliant.

I saw a purple truck the other day and I didn't take much notice. Then I saw that the url was www.yourock-weroll.com How could I resist that? As soon as I got into the office I was straight on the t'interweb. Their website is fantastic. Click on the Jukebox and then the Wall of Infamy. Fantastic stuff.

They're truckers that take bands' kit to gigs. Roadies with branding.

It's really great when businesses do this kinda thing. It's actually really brave to put those warts an all pictures on their website, but it really helps. This company is really well tuned into their customers. Even the url, you rock we roll .com is fucking great. Well done truckers this is brilliant.

And I've used too many reallys. Sorry.

Paul Smith said that at a talk at the Design Museum. Actually, he says that everywhere, all the time.

Talking of Paul Smith, since he began almost all of his graphic design has been done by Aboud Sodano. And what a fantastic job they have done too. I would link to their website, but I can't find one.
