Has anyone heard of iRise?
I imagine only people in the US will have, but if you have I'd like to know what you think of it. Thank you.

wow - they have a solutions button in their nav.
I wonder what happens if you press it.

I've taken a look at their site, parts of which look fairly nice but I'm none the wiser as to what they are actually selling... Their download brochure isn't very appealing, looks a bit home made, few drop shadows here and there - poorly typeset etc.
So what do they do then? Anyone?

Seems they let you build mock applications which can be tested, tried and eventually reviewed. I guess the idea is you should take some time to build a mockup app before devoting hundreds of man hours to developing the real thing. Looks like it would be very handy for a company that develops a lot of apps from scratch.
You'd have to dig into the software to know for sure... but this might also come in handy when designing/building large websites. I know usability is crucial- and it's always handy to know that users are clicking on everything you intended them to click on.

That's pretty close. iRise is a simulation platform for business applications. Think CAD tool for software. Just like other industries left their drafting boards behind in favor of 3D modeling and visualization, iRise simulation software lets business analysts and UX professionals quickly assemble high fidelity, fully functional prototypes of custom, packaged and enhancement projects. Beats tesing wire-frames with customers AFTER the application has already been coded. The secret sauce is how fast this can be done. At the end of the day it's not important where or how you build something anymore, it's all about WHAT to build in the first place.
Feel free to email me with questions: [email protected]. I'm the CMO for iRise.

Hi Mitch, thanks for visiting.
Are there any plans to launch in London? Any place a group of interested people could see a demo in London?

We've been mainly U.S. based to-date, but I believe we have some folks visiting London in January. Send me an email and we can coordinate a demo - even if we do one over the Web. Cheers,

I'm in Telesales at iRise and have just started marketing to small and mid-sized firms in the U.K. I have one customer there now, a design firm named CarbonDX, and have a lot of interest. We make trial software available to mid-market clients (under $500M), just click the Try iRise button at www.irise.com. Make a note that you found us on this blog and I'll approve your trial right away.

I used iRise at my last job. In fact, I was the "iRise guru" for our development team. I worked with a team of business analysts to create iRise simulations for all of our new products. We would test these simulations with our users, and make changes to the design, before getting all of the developers involved. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.
