A nice lady from the Government came in yesterday. Very, very interesting.
When I tell people we're thinking of opening an office in China, they look at me like I'm mad. But five minutes later they start nodding and saying that maybe it's a good idea.
The people from the Government don't think we're mad. Looks like I might be going out in November.
Are you a communist?

I'd consider Mumbai against Shanghai or Guangzhou any day depending on the type of business being considered. If the numbers are compelling, I like this quote from the U.N's chief demographer.
“How many members are there in the E.U? 25. Take all of them. All 25, and look at the growth they had in 2003. The entire year, the difference between the births and the deaths; The European Union, 2003, the entire year, India achieved that in 6 days. By January 7 2003 India exceeded the growth rate of the entire E.U. for the whole year.”

The other thing about India apart from lots of people speaking English, is that it will have the youngest and largest workforce in the world by 2020. Not a bad thing in the buck making business. However infrastructure is crap in India. Centrally controlled communism is much better for large wealth generating road projects.

Paul, some of us are. Definitely.
Charles, great comment. China for several reasons not least that a few of our clients have major operations over there. Also there is very little, if none whatsoever, Government support for opening in India.
